On July 6, 2023 – New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey was honored to have a visit from Congressman Jimmy Panetta.

New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey is part of a Northern California and Nevada network of leading behavioral health centers for adults and families who suffer from addiction to alcohol, opiates, amphetamines and other substances.

Congressman Panetta Visit July 6, 2023 – Congressman Jimmy Panetta toured our New Start Recovery Solutions Monterey facility last Thursday. We were excited for him to see our dual diagnosis addiction treatment programs. And we were excited to share the info on our Veteran Program: Wellness for Warriors®.

United States Representative Jimmy Panetta proudly serves California’s 19th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

His diverse and beautiful district stretches from south San Jose in Santa Clara County, over the hills into Santa Cruz County, down the coastline of Monterey County, and into northern San Luis Obispo County. First elected in 2016, he is serving his fourth term in Congress.

He currently serves on the House Committee on Ways and Means, the House Committee on Armed Services, and House Committee on the Budget. He also serves as a Chief Deputy Whip in the 118th Congress.

Representative Jimmy Panetta – Navy Veteran

As a Navy veteran, Representative Jimmy Panetta is dedicated to upgrading services and programs for our veterans. Prior to Congress, Representative Panetta served our country as an Intelligence Officer in the U.S. Navy Reserve. And he served his community as a prosecutor in Monterey and Alameda Counties.

In 2007, Congressman Panetta volunteered for active duty and was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service. Upon returning home, he served as a board member of the Veterans Transition Center, helped open Monterey County’s first Veterans Treatment Court, and worked to establish the Central Coast Veterans Cemetery on the former Fort Ord.

In California’s 19th Congressional District, he has passed into law legislation to promote clean energy, protect California’s forests and pollinators, support frontline health care workers, tackle hunger among military families, and provide legal services to homeless veterans and veterans at risk for homelessness.

Monterey, CA June 30, 2023 – United States Representative Jimmy Panetta (CA-19) announced more than $1.11 million for Marina and Monterey to assist homeless veterans to reenter the workforce. The funding comes through the Homeless Veterans’ Reintegration Program.

The students will attend the service academies in the fall as they take their first steps toward becoming officers in the U.S. military. Rep. Panetta held a reception for the nominees and their families on May 19th, 2023.

With our Veterans Program, Wellness for Warriors®, Sierra Health + Wellness Centers provide behavioral health, PTSD and addiction recovery treatment for veterans. Using evidence-based trauma informed integrated treatment, our dual diagnosis recovery solutions are a lifeline for veterans struggling with PTSD and SUD (substance use disorder) or AUD (alcohol use disorder).
