Dr. Raheel Khan, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Raheel Khan joined Sierra Health + Wellness Centers at the beginning of March 2022 as our Chief Medical Officer; reporting directly to our COO. Dr. Khan is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and enforcing acceptable professional and ethical standards of the facility’s medical services according to its policies, procedures, philosophy, and objectives.

Dr. Khan assists SHWC’s Program Directors in assuring that the facilities meet all related local, state, federal, and accrediting-body rules and regulations. He also helps with coordinating and directing patient care in the facility according to adopted policies/procedures, state and federal regulations, and accepted accreditation standards.

Dr. Khan brings with him a wide breadth of education, training, and knowledge. Dr. Khan has a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology, Physiology, & Behavior with a Minor in Human Development from University of California Davis, and a Doctorate of Osteopathy from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Khan was also a Co-Chief Resident at the Ohio State University Medical Center Department of Psychiatry, Psychiatry Residency Program, and the UC Davis Medical Center Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences Psychosomatic Medicine Fellow — PGY — 5.

Prior to coming to SHWC, Dr. Khan worked as the Chief Medical Executive for all of the psychiatry programs offered through Sutter Center for Psychiatry, in Sacramento, California. He also works at the Sutter Family Practice Residency Program as an adjunct facility member running an integrated clinic with family practice residents and faculty there.

Dr. Khan is active on 9 medical boards, teaches regularly, has professional publications, awards & nominations, and media correspondence. He is Licensed by the California Medical Board and certified by the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology Psychosomatic Subspecialty Certification & the American Board of Psychiatry & Neurology Certification in General Psychiatry.
