Ixel Morell, Chief Operations Officer

As Chief Operations Officer, Ixel Morell has an extensive background in healthcare management; focusing on quality and safety to drive organizational efforts at Sierra Health + Wellness Centers.

My desire to help people in need is a trait inherited from my mother. From my early days my mother model how to be a humble servant and help those in need.
I truly believe I was placed on this earth to serve my fellow mankind. I have a passion for helping communities struggling with behavioral health challenges. Although I didn’t initially pursue a career in behavioral health it found me and wouldn’t let go even when I wanted to move on. Family members and close friends have been negatively impacted by behavioral health challenges.
I have experienced and seen the grief, pain, and heartache it brings. I feel blessed to be in a position at Sierra Health + Wellness Centers that allows me to serve individuals and communities struggling with behavioral challenges and give hope to those going through these struggles. I’m so grateful to the Sierra Health + Wellness Centers family for the positive impact they make on the lives of our clients each day.

Ixel oversees all Clinical Operations, Human Resources, Finances, Reporting, Strategy, Business Operations and Development for Sierra Health + Wellness Centers.

SHWC continues to grow and serve Addiction Treatment and Behavioral Health with Residential Treatment Facilities (New Start Recovery Solutions) and Outpatient Treatment Facilities (Recovery Happens Counseling Services) in Northern California and Reno.

Ixel Morell came to Sierra Health + Wellness Centers from Sutter Center for Psychiatry where he served as the Chief Executive Officer. Prior to that he was the Chief Operations Officer for Sierra Vista Hospital.

He is passionate about giving back to his community. He is active on the Placer County Food Bank, the Latino Leadership Council, serves on the Board of Directors for the Positive Coaching Alliance, and is active with Rocklin Pony Baseball.

Ixel believes – and has seen – that recovery can best be achieved through a whole-person approach.
